Meagan writes, "Lately I have had to give a great deal of impromptu presentations. When called upon, I get extremely anxious and words do not flow the way I want them to."
Even the most experienced speakers must deal with a butterfly or two, when they are totally unprepared.
In order to be an experienced and prepared impromptu speaker, follow these tips:
1) Be prepared. Anticipate the possibility that you will be called on and mentally form a few thoughts.
2) Take the techniques learned in preparing a presentation, such as, stand when possible and use these in an impromptu situation.
3) Organize your thoughts around information that you already possess.
4) Know your audience. Observe what is going on around you and respond to it.
