"We have some changes coming in the next six months. How can I prepare our employees for this?" asks Lance.
Imprint!
Address the changes frequently and in a variety of ways. The more you communicate upfront with positive, consistent and clear messages around the changes you know are coming, the better employees can begin to "see" what things will be like when the change occurs. This process will allow employees to anticipate change and not be surprised.
Paint the picture for them in small messages. Encourage open communication as well as feedback. The information you share should support the company's goals and be tied to the interests of the employees.
