Ann presents frequently and has delivered several keynote speeches. However, lately she feels that her audience members are not engaged. She asks, "How can I determine if my presentation was a success?"
First, evaluate the amount of eye contact you receive from your audience members. Eye contact is a very powerful tool when presenting. Ensure that you have engaged your audience with the appropriate amount of eye contact and pay attention to their non-verbals.
Also, your audience's responsiveness during the Q & A session will allow you to measure the level of interest you created with your audience.
If you are presenting to a smaller group, have your audience members fill out a feedback sheet. Allow for anonymous responses. This way the participants will be more inclined to express their true feelings.
